Indonesian Women Alliance (IWA), a non-profit organization, was rooted in Los Angeles circa 2015. Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia Los Angeles, Umar Hadi encouraged and supported the beginning and establishment of IWA with Founder Melany Lintuuran and Indonesian women community in Los Angeles. Together in unity, IWA has grown into a global movement to empower women to thrive and make a positive impact. IWA's members come from all backgrounds, all ages and all professionals from Housewives, Activists to Entrepreneurs, from Nurses, Caregivers to Teachers.

Explore Indonesia 2018
ThFor the 3rd year, the Consulate General of Indonesia, Indonesia Trade Promotion Center Los Angeles and Indonesian Women Alliance present a series of nation branding event “Explore Indonesia”. This year’s theme: Celebrating Our Oceans is to promote oceans as part of Indonesia’s heritage. Indonesia is committed in its conservation and sustainability as well as highlighting its potentials for trade, tourism, and investment.
Explore Indonesia’s main purpose is branding Indonesia as a nation actively bridging its traditional & modern values with economic & socio-cultural impacts. This event aims, among others, to promote various Indonesian quality products, services, and trade-investment opportunities; build awareness of Indonesia as the best marine-tourism destination; and integrate Indonesian products into the every-day American lifestyle.
The Empowerment of Women in Contemporary Indonesia: Progress and Challenges 2019
This conference will gather academics, teachers, researchers, and graduate students who are involved in or have conducted research about the empowerment of women in contemporary Indonesia. It aims to highlight research and work that analyze the various socioeconomic, religious, or legislative changes that have advanced or hindered the empowerment of women in Indonesia in recent decades. The conference will not only discuss the progress that have been made, but also the challenges that the country continues to face.
